SUMMARY:Seminar with Atrandi Biosciences (virtual event)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this educational event around Semi-Permeable Capsule Technology and how the UF ICBR Gene Expression and Genotyping Core (GE) can assist with projects for metagenomics\, environmental microbial\, or translational. \nRecent advances in single-cell assays and sequencing workflows have increased the demand for higher-throughput methods that improve sensitivity while maintaining accuracy and resolution in complex biological samples. Although plate-based approaches and droplet microfluidics enable scalable single-cell compartmentalization\, they remain limited by incompatibilities with multi-step workflows and constrained reagent exchange. Atrandi’s semi-permeable capsule (SPC) technology addresses these challenges by enabling scalable multi-step reactions while preserving single-cell resolution and reducing assay and sequencing costs. SPCs compartmentalize single cells\, nuclei\, or beads within an aqueous core. \nFlux System Single Microbiome (Pilot Study Announcement) \nFlux Pilot Study Application Form \nAgenda: \n\n12:00-12:40 Dr. Stephanie Gao’s Talk ““Resolve Microbial Diversity\, One Cell at a Time: Innovative Semi-Permeable Capsules (SPCs) for Single-Cell Microbial Whole Genome Sequencing”\n12:40-12:50 Kristof O’Connor “New Product Roadmap”\n12:50-1pm Question/Answer Session\n\nTeams Meeting Link: https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/322076583012003?p=SujYBrPxjglcYYYSNJ \nPasscode: cn9t5Xp9 \n

SUMMARY:Lunch and Learn: Bruker Spatial Biology
DESCRIPTION:Integrated Single-Cell Functional Discovery with Beacon® — From Antibody Discovery to TCR Functional Screening\nEVENT FLYER \nJoin us for a focused seminar to learn how researchers can perform single-cell\, real-time analysis of B and T cells to identify high-affinity antibodies\, characterize TCR specificity\, and accelerate candidate selection with direct functional readouts. The session will cover workflows for Antibody Discovery and T Cell Profiling applications; including cytotoxicity\, cell surface and cytokine profiling\, cell–cell interaction assays\, and clone recovery for downstream sequencing and engineering. \nThe Beacon® platform enables researchers to sort and analyze tens of thousands of live cells with a variety of functional assays over time. Cell sorting is accomplished with light\, preserving cell health and allowing for the creation of complex co-cultures. Analysis is done in single-cell microfluidic chambers\, unlocking the ability to measure complex biology at single cell resolution. Assays are performed on live cells\, and data is captured over-time to provide dynamic and longitudinal insights. Finally\, single cells are collected post-assay for scale-up or downstream molecular analysis. These integrated capabilities have accelerated development of therapeutics\, diagnostics\, and reagents; and has identified novel biomarkers for complex biologics. Attendees will leave the seminar understanding: \n\nThe Beacon Platform’s Technical Capabilities and Applications\nAntibody Discovery & BCR/TCR Repertoire Analysis – Sequencing B cells to develop antibodies against known and novel /unknown antigens in one day\nCell-Cell Interaction Analysis – Characterizing T cell cytotoxicity\, cytokine secretion\, cell surface protein expression\, and cell motility in live cell co-cultures to understand functionality of CARs/TCRs/BiTEs\nFunctional Biology + Spatial Biology – A case study interrogating functional TCRs in a patient tumor and spatially mapping T cell receptors to understand cancer  pathology\n\nSpeakers:\nJoseph Valdez\, Ph.D. | Technical Sales Manager\nDr. Valdez accelerates researchers’ goals by translating their operations onto the Beacon. Dr. Valdez trained in molecular and cellular analysis in the field of oncology and holds deep experience in cutting-edge analytical methods \nAmanda M. Dossat\, Ph.D. | Field Applications Scientist\nDr. Dossat brings a strong background in molecular biology and high-content confocal imaging. Dr. Dossat has applied these tools across neuroscience\,  immunology\, oncology\, and multi-omics research domains. \n  \n/// REGISTER HERE ///

SUMMARY:ID7000 Spectral Analyzer Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Join us this March for a special seminar with Sony and ICBR Cytometry & Optical Microscopy (Click for Event Flyer). Topics include: \n\nSpectral Unmixing : In spectral analysis\, signals from all detected channels are used to create one spectral emission signals\, regardless of the number of fluorochromes analyzed. Unmixing\, a powerful capability\, tehn separates fluorophores into pure signals that measure the intensity of each fluorophore at each wavelength to more accurately measure date for analysis\nManaging Autofluorescence : Spectral analysis\, while allowing researchers to see the full emission signal without using bandpass filters\, also enables AF to be handled as a separate color. Spectral technology subtracts one of more AF spectral fingerprints to allow to ee the true fluorescent populations.\nSmall Particle Detection: Analysis of cellular exosomes\, viruses\, and other subcellular particles are all applications supported by small particle detection\nStandardization Mode : sets the ID7000 to an optimized master specification that allows researchers to maintain instruments settings between experiments to support longitudinal studies and cross-site collaboration. PMT voltage correlation coefficients are calculated for each laser detection deck during daily QC\, resulting in standardized measurements across all lasers\, detectors\, and instruments. All PMT array voltages can be adjusted synchronously\, or arrays can be adjusted individually for each laser\n\n>>>>   RSVP HERE   <<<< \nPresenter: Ben Janoschek
