ICBR Gene Expression & Genotyping Acquires LeviCell
ICBR GE has recently acquired the LeviCell system, a cutting-edge technology that is now available for walk-up service. This innovative system uses magnetic levitation to separate live cells from dead cells and debris, making it a reliable, stress-free, and label-free solution for sorting cell populations.
Here’s how it works: First, the cell suspension is mixed with a reagent and loaded into the LeviCell cartridge. Then, the cartridge is inserted into the LeviCell instrument, where magnets around the cartridge levitate live cells while dead cells and debris sink to a lower level. Once this process has stabilized, live cells can be collected in the top well on the other end of the cartridge.
The LeviCell system is fast (taking only 20 minutes), gentle, and can provide high-quality single-cell suspensions for 10x single-cell loading. It also ensures viable, debris-free cells before sorting, which can reduce flow sorting time and improve sample resolution.
