Feeding the Community: UF ICBR’s 6th Annual Backpack Food Drive Competition

The 6th Annual Backpack Food Drive Competition was recently held by UF ICBR, with tremendous success.

During this competition, all of our cores came together to make a significant impact by donating a total of 9,540 servings of food. “Food insecurity is always a concern and especially in recent years as food prices have increased,” shared Erica Boyd, Human Resources Generalist III at ICBR, who organized the drive. “It affects many people we see every day and we may not know it. The generosity of the employees at ICBR is amazing and every year they give in such abundance that we are really able to help the community around us. It is really extraordinary to be part of something so incredible.”

These generous contributions have not only supported the backpack program at Lake Forest Elementary in Gainesville but also helped stock the Field and Fork pantry here at UF. By doing so, we have extended our assistance to the entire UF community, including students, faculty, and staff.

Our Monoclonal Antibody core emerged as the winner of this competition for the third consecutive year, showcasing their exceptional dedication and commitment.
