ICBR Electron Microscopy Core Acquires Talos L120C

The University of Florida Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research is excited to announce the latest addition to its Electron Microscopy core: the Thermo Scientific Talos L120C G2, a 120 kV Transmission Electron Microscope. This state-of-the-art instrument brings a new level of flexibility and imaging capabilities for researchers.

One of the key advantages of the Talos is its user-friendly interface, which allows our staff to easily perform the necessary alignments and then hand over control to our customers. This empowers researchers to freely explore and capture the precise images they need for their experiments. With just a few hours of training from our expert staff, researchers can quickly become proficient in operating the Talos and collecting data independently.

A standout feature of the Talos is its remarkable versatility across a wide range of applications. Whether it’s imaging cells, cell organelles, or studying materials such as asbestos, polymers, and soft substances, the Talos consistently delivers high-quality images that meet the diverse needs of our research community.

The system’s Constant-Power™ C-TWIN lens is responsible for enhancing the optical performance of the Talos. It ensures an optimal balance between contrast and resolution, even at moderate and high magnifications. This remarkable capability enables researchers to capture intricate details with exceptional clarity, providing valuable insights into their samples.

Located at our main facility, the Cancer & Genetics Research Complex (CGRC) South Wing, 2033 Mowry Road in Gainesville, FL 32610, the Talos is readily accessible to researchers. For any questions, please contact us by email at ICBR-ElectronMicroscopy@ad.ufl.edu or by phone at (352) 392-1184. We look forward to supporting your research endeavors with the advanced capabilities of the Thermo Scientific Talos L120C G2.
