CORE OVERVIEW

Welcome to UF ICBR Gene Expression and Genotyping Core (GE). Our up-to-date gene expression and genotyping analysis methods allow scientists to be on the cutting edge of research. Our high-quality data can help researchers for their grant applications and scientific paper publications.

The Gene Expression & Genotyping core provides state-of-the-art technical services and consultation on Single Cell RNA-Seq, 10x Visium Spatial Gene Expression, Covid-seq, RNA-Seq, 16s metagenomics and ThemoFisher Axiom Genotyping arrays using Beckman Biomek Liquid Handling Automation instrument. High-throughput RNA-seq libraries, 16s libraries and sequencing capture libraries can be done by using the SPT Labtech nanoliter pipetting instrument Mosquito, DragonFly and Agilent Bravo robot. QuantiGene RNA Assays measure up to 80 gene targets directly with degraded and cross-linked RNA in FFPE tissues and blood, with no RNA purification required. The BioRad QX200 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR System provides absolute quantification of target DNA or RNA molecules with greater precision and sensitivity than qPCR, the sensitivity off ddPCR System can facilitate expanded analysis of single cells.

To help researchers at every aspect, GE also provides a variety of basic molecular biology services such as DNA isolations, PCR reactions, and PCR purifications for sequencing. High quality of DNA and RNA are the key for reliable data; therefore, DNA and RNA quality assessment services are offered using an Agilent Bioanalyzer and TapeStation instrument at GE.

The walkup service for DNA RNA extraction with QIAcube is available at GE as well, for more information, please contact us at GeneExpression@ad.ufl.edu
