UF | ICBR: Shut Down for Academics for Black Lives

UF | ICBR will be closed on the afternoon of Friday, June 19th, starting at noon and ending at 5pm, to allow employees time to reflect on our personal actions and continue to educate ourselves about racism. These efforts are in conjunction with those of the President of the University of Florida and Academics for Black Lives, an initiative intended for academic faculty and staff to examine the toll of racial trauma on Black people, combat racism and hate, and seek both accountability and collective action for solutions. June 19th marks the first day of Black Survival and Wellness Week, a week long personal and professional development initiative for academics to review the effects of racism, facilitate conversation and reflection, as well as determine next steps.
